It While performing customer service duties and when free, flight attendants must periodically conduct cabin checks. Checks must be done on every area of aircraft including the lavatory to ensure the smoke detector hasn’t been deactivated and to restock supplies as needed. They also respond to call lights dealing with special requests. During turbulence, flight attendants must ensure the cabin is secure. A final cabin check is then be done prior to landing. Are there hierarchy in Cabin Crew (Airhostess) ?
There are different positions in Cabin Crew (Airhostess) to perform different responsibities
The hierarchy of Cabin Crew are flight attendants who gets promoted through the ranks- Flight attendant → Senior crew member → Purser → Chief Purser.
The Chief Purser (CP), The position with this crew member differs from airline to airline. They report after the cabin is secure for takeoff and landing, give on-board announcements, and any broken or missing emergency equipment items to the pilots after the preflight check. To reach this level, the Cabin Crew ( Air hostess ) must have a mandatory certain amount of years of services in the airline.
The Purser is on board larger size aircraft with multiple flight attendants, who assist the Chief Purser and have almost similar roles and responsibilities. Pursers also undergoes further training to become a purser, and normally earn a higher salary than flight attendants as they have added responsibilities.
